Notes from Dorcy’s Class

Dr. Craig Childress: Attachment Based "Parental Alienation" (AB-PA)

I’m a clinical psychologist.  A child rejecting a parent is an attachment-related pathology.  It is up to professional psychology to solve this family issue.  That’s our job.  That’s what we do.

Professional psychology is failing parents.  Professional psychology is failing the courts.  Professional psychology is not solving attachment-related pathology surrounding divorce.

It is up to professional psychology to solve this.

_______________

That being said… Dorcy is doing something intriguing.  Really intriguing.  I’m so enjoying Dorcy’s class.  As a clinical psychologist who’s a specialist in family healing, I’m absolutely giddy with excitement listening to the ideas Dorcy is introducing; she introduced incredibly powerful change agents already in the first two classes.  And the way she is weaving them is masterful.

Second class she introduces the mirror.  My goodness gracious, that’s an incredibly powerful change agent.  Self-reflection.  More.  The mirror unlocks the power of self-reflective insight.

Former Clinton staffer putting up “The NRA is a terrorist organization” billboards

Fellowship of the Minds

nra billboard

Well that will surely change hearts and minds. And no doubt drive up NRA membership.

From Fox News: A new controversial Florida billboard is targeting the National Rifle Association as a “terrorist organization.”

The anti-NRA billboard is funded by Claude Taylor, a former White House staffer for President Bill Clinton, through MAD DOG PAC, a political action committee that also erected billboards calling for President Trump’s impeachment in states across the country.

The PAC’s website sells a “March For Our Lives Rally Pack” for $50 that includes an “NRA Terror” T-shirt and rally signs with “Impeachment Now” buttons and bumper stickers ahead of the gun-control rally on March 24 following the Florida school shooting that killed 17 people.

Taylor plans to put up more anti-NRA billboards in red states across the nation. “With the GOP majority…

Fellowship of the Minds

Add another voice to the growing pop culture “normalization” of cannibalism.

It’s Richard Dawkins, 76, the celebrated British evolutionary biologist and rabid atheist who says there’s nothing wrong about pedophilia and it’s our moral duty to kill the mentally retarded.

On March 3, 2018, referring to a news article in the Independent on lab-grown meat being on restaurant menus by the end of this year, Dawkins asks in a tweet if human meat can be grown, and calls the “taboo” against cannibalism a knee-jerk “yuck reaction” of a rigid moral absolutism:

“Tissue culture ‘clean meat’ already in 2018? I’ve long been looking forward to this. What if human meat is grown? Could we overcome our taboo against cannibalism? An interesting test case for consequentialist morality versus ‘yuck reaction’ absolutism.”

Note:Consequentialism is a school of thought that says the morality of an action depends on the consequences it creates…
