#AceHistoryNews – June.30: The first ever Corvette was produced at the General Motors facility in Flint, Michigan and an assembly line worker, Tony Kleiber, was given the opportunity to drive this historic car fresh off the line #AceHistoryNews Harley J. Earl, the man behind the Corvette’s classic style, introduced his latest design as part of GM’s traveling Motorama display at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

This, the first all-fibreglass bodied American sports car, soon became an object Americans could not get their eyes off of. By 1961, the Corvette solidified its reputation as one of America’s favourites and it continues to rank among the world’s elite sports cars.
