Last week, the Washington Examiner published an FBI report about the “mindset and behaviors” of those who had attacked law enforcement officers.

In summary, the internal FBI investigation into these attacks determined that revenge, (inspired by the “Black Lives Matter” movement), the media’s assault on police shootings, and criticism from politicians, is what motivated the majority of the 53 shootings that killed 63 law enforcement officers last year. They stated that law enforcement officials believe that defiance and hostility displayed by these assailants “appears to be the new norm.”

After reading the report, I had a different conclusion. Given the tragedy of these events, my first reaction was as to how these events, these murders, can be prevented, rather than concluding this is somehow a “new norm” caused by “Black Lives Matter,” the media, or politicians who fail to support police.
